The Fundres Mine close to Villandro is definitely worth a visit: Here, you may participate in guided tours through the Elisabeth Tunnel and the Lorenz Tunnel. The Archeopark in Villandro / South Tyrol will fascinate you with ancient excavations, while the Castle Trostburg (Castel Forte) in Ponte Gardena will take you back in time to the Middle Ages. Besides many splendid churches, such as St. Anna’s Chapel and St. Valentine’s Church, the parish church of St. Stephen with the attached cemetery is also worth a visit. Furthermore, you may take a walk along the Sabiona Promenade and visit the Monastery of Sabiona above Chiusa.

If you visit the farm Aichnerhof in the autumn, look forward to the ancient tradition of Törggelen. Directly in Villandro, many Törggele taverns open their doors and will serve you hearty and traditional specialties, like bacon and dumplings, chestnuts, donuts and new wine!
